FOLCO ORLANDINI  VOCALS

Born : August 7 1972
Grosseto (Italy)

Musical Background :

I've started 15 years ago listening to heavy metal and it has been love at the first sight. Iron Maiden, Manowar and Helloween were my favourites. "Keeper of the seven keys" has been the album showing me what a man can do with his own voice...great!! after that album I decided to start singing (1988). During that period (until 1995) the classic and power heavy metal has been my only music.
Now I like lots of different music: from New age to Soul from heavy to pop. there's no walls in my choices. I like Manowar, but i like Kid Loco too!!;-) I think that everyone has to follow different influences to create something new and original; I'm like a box, I mix together what I put inside (listening, places I have seen, experiences,....), so my creations are the result: both the music with Mesmerize and the products of my job (I'm an industrial designer).
The "one way" is never the best way...especially to create a style. About the music all I need is to feel emotions, I love to hear good melodies and great voices...this is what I really search. The heavy bands in the 80's had the credit for joining good vocal melodies with a powerful guitar sound and a speed drumming....the best mix!! The current metal scene is a bit disappointing; there's no more feeling from bands that I loved in the past.
Anyway I like artists coming from the metal world: Manowar, Gamma ray, Bruce Dickinson, Stratovarius,......hem,....Cranberries

Influences :

Michael Kiske, Geoff Tate, Eric Adams, Andre Matos…

Likes :

I like music of course! I like to compose it: from the songwriting to the studio work, but the live act is much better....I love our supporters. We have fans-friends who drive for kilometres to see our concerts...they're crazy !!!
I like comics (you know what I mean) and computers. I like to visit other countries, different places, different cultures, different cities. My favourite is NYC, I've been there 5/6 times and it's always super, it's like a movie !!

Mesmerize “Tales of Wonder” (1998)
Mesmerize “Vultures Paradise” (2002)
Mesmerize “Off the Beaten Path” (2002)

White Skull - Embittered (1997)

Khali “Khali” (2000)

Dislikes :

I would like to change the subject, no more music. I don't like the over-dozing people (our next CD will include a song about). I'm always making, I can't stay on the sofa watching the TV more than 1 hour!! Probably this is the reason why I have taken part in several side projects. The same way I dislike the braggarts, nearly always they hide uncertainty. If you're sure of yourself you don't need presumption.

Top 5 Métal :

HELLOWEEN "Keeper of the 7 keys part I"
HELLOWEEN "Keeper of the 7 keys part II"
QUEENSRYCHE"Operation: Mindcrime"
ANGRA "Angels cry"
SKID ROW "Slave to the grind"
