As usual, this journal reports on completed and
continuing research projects in English-speaking communities, particularly the
UK. Especially worth noting in this number is the overview of the Regional
Cultural Data Framework, a report which is currently being circulated for
comments. The framework addresses the need for comparable, quantitative
cultural data to inform regional strategies in the UK. The framework
includes for example a standard analytical definition of the cultural
sector and a collection of good practises. In addition to summarising several research projects carried out in the field of participation in the arts, attendance profiles etc., the journal gives an interesting overview on a study on the barriers to progression experienced by Black and Asian arts managers and administrators in London. |
