This issue of the Finnish Arts Council's magazine focuses on new media arts and the role
cultural policy plays in this young artistic field. It introduces the
themes and approaches discussed at an international expert meeting on
media art and new media cultural policy which took place in Helsinki in
August 2004, co-hosted by m-cult (Centre for New Media Culture), the Arts
Council of Finland, and IFACCA.
Contributions present Finnish new media arts policy, and, for comparison, articles on the electronic art policy in other countries are included as well. Worth noting is the Helsinki Agenda, a strategy document on international development of new media cultural policy, proposed by the expert meeting. |
