ARSIS
no. 3, 2007

Every now and again, the Arts Council of Finland publishes a special number of its magazine in English if the theme is targeted at an international readership. This is the case with this number: it deals with Finnish cultural exports.

The Finnish cultural export project, launched in 2004, refers not only to the commercial export of cultural products to other countries, but include the exchange of cultural meanings, in a process of interaction and co-operation. The articles in this number present the topic from a variety of viewpoints and artistic sectors, looking also at the role of cultural programmes in national branding and competitive advantage. A brief interview with Kimmo Aulake, Finnish delegate and Chair of the Council of Europe's Steering Committee for Culture, is included.

The magazine is available in PDF, or can be ordered in paper from the website of the Arts Council at this external link.
