This number's dossier focuses on the rights of performers in Europe, providing
a survey on the various measures in selected EU countries. Articles deal with
remuneration of performers, digital rights management, and the role of
collecting societies,
responsible for
collection and distribution of fees, royalties and all other forms of
compensation. The impact of the current provisions on transborder
mobility of performers is treated as well.
The remaining sections of the journal complement the articles of the
dossier. Three interviews with performers and MEP Hennicot-Schoepges
illustrate the precarious situation of performers, and newspaper articles
included in the press review provide stories which are equally related to
status and working conditions of artists in Europe. |
