Cultural Trends
vol. 13 (4), 2004 - issue 52

This issue is dedicated to the research of four bodies of the United Kingdom's Department for Culture, Media and Sport: the UK Film Council, English Heritage, Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The four articles present the place of research in these funding organisations and describe their research activities and priorities. The concluding commentary explores the common points of the four research strategies, highlighting the linkage to evidence-based policies. For example, the socio-economic impacts of funding are important in any of the four research agendas.
