The thematic part of this issue is dedicated to
public service broadcasting. The articles in this section, accompanied by English summaries, deal
with the role of the state in market-oriented television systems, present
the current debate on public broadcasting in the United Kingdom, introduce
the new model of state intervention in broadcasting in Spain, and discuss
in detail the current situation of national television in Italy, in the
light of the EU financial rules, the recent legal provisions, and the
planned privatisation of the Italian broadcasting station RAI.
The documentary section presents a statistical profile of the TV market in five EU countries - France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom - looking in particular at audience and income figures. Further articles deal with museums in China, and report on a museum survey in Italy. |
