International Cultural Centre Cracow
no. 14, January-December 2005

The yearbook documents the activities - projects, educational programmes, conferences, exhibitions, publications - of the International Cultural Centre during 2005.

The Centre has enlarged its ambit beyond the field of cultural heritage; as co-ordinator of the Polish network of the Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures, it is now also active in the area of intercultural dialogue.

The section "Reflections - Impressions - Opinions" includes a couple of articles dealing with the new role of Poland as an EU member state, also with a view to its relations with neighbour countries. In his article on the city as work of art, the Director of the Centre, Jacek Purchla, calls for more contemporary art in public space.

The presentation of conferences and seminars reflects the Centre's profile as research body in cultural heritage, as well as the current interest in borders and borderlands.
