Journal of Arts Management, Law and Society
vol. 36 (2), summer 2006

This issue of the Journal of Arts Management, Law and Society has no central unifying theme, covering research in arts management and policy, and a legal discussion on copyright infringement.

The opening article presents a study that tracks the education and career paths of art agencies' executive directors: management disciplines do not play a prominent role.

Burgess then analyses the history and the policy of the Independent Commission set up to examine the US National Endowment for the Arts (NEA).

Rather curious is the final article by Wasson who discusses the concept of "fair use" of copyrighted materials in worship services; this is becoming a vital and time- and money-consuming concern for those involved in the creation of religious experiences.
