Of special interest in this number is the presentation of a new German  publication on the public support for the arts in the Netherlands. Its author, Sabine Dorscheid, examines the detrimental effects of the Dutch support model on the autonomy of the arts and argues that this model is not transferable to states whose approach to cultural policy is less pragmatic.
