Kulturpolitische Mitteilungen
Nr. 111, 2005

This magazine reports on developments concerning cultural policy, in particular in Germany, and takes up current topics of discussion.

This number's focus section - entitled "Cultural construction site Europe" - deals with the place of culture in European integration. Dammeyer reviews the provisions for culture in the proposal for a EU constitution. Trüpel assesses the political capabilities of the EU to safeguard the special status of cultural goods and services in the world market. Bernecker gives an account of the successful common action of EU member states in the negotiations on the UNESCO Convention on Cultural Diversity.

Of special interest are the articles on Council of Europe activities: Röper  presents the exhibition "Histories of Dialogue", realised in the context of the Intercultural Dialogue and Conflict Prevention project, and Wiesand/Göbel outline the monitoring activities of the Compendium on Cultural Policies and Trends in Europe.

The table of contents and selected articles are available online on the website of the Kulturpolitische Gesellschaft at this external link.
