Of special interest in this issue of the Music Council of Australia’s magazine is the short article on braille transcriptions of copyrighted music works, not considered in the Australian Copyright Act; the Australian society of music publishers now granted this exception for non-commercial educational purposes. Noteworthy might be furthermore the presentation of the Endangered Instruments Programme, launched recently to encourage young people to play rarer music instruments. This number is complemented by a special insert on Australian government funding available for music education. |
