The focus section in this issue of the newsletter on cultural and arts policy in France deals
with the current problems of the Ministry of Culture to finalise
legislation in two fields: copyright law and unemployment insurance for the entertainment industry. It
also presents the
proposals of the Socialist Party for regulating copyright on the Internet. Of interest is also the short account of the activities of the Etablissement public de coopération culturelle (EPCC), the public body which was established three years ago to promote the cultural decentralisation. Furthermore, the issue briefly takes stock of the achievements of the Fondation du patrimoine during its first ten years of existence. |
