The focus section in this issue of
the newsletter on cultural and arts policy in France is dedicated to the
topic of cultural sponsorship; on 15 March 2005 an agreement on sponsorship
in the regions was signed between the French Ministry of Culture and the
Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Another subject of concern is the
social conflict on the unemployment benefit between French government and
the workers of the show and entertainment industry which is rising again, as
the festivals season comes closer. The French Minister of Culture proposes a
Charter on employment in the performing arts sector which should clarify the
responsibilities of the various actors. |
