In
a manner that's served them well to date, MUSE return with a double
A-side made up of equal measures of rock, classicism, nonsense,
angst and Matt Bellamy's trademark girly-vocal gymnastics.
Capturing every ounce of the band's stage energy, 'Dead Star' brings
you close to the point of trashing your stereo kit, setting alight
your collection of Oasis records and chucking your shirt to the
neighbours. Rock's rarely this inciting.
'In Your World' is just as deadly with an overture of such massively
naff-classical-rip stature that you're left as red with embarrassment
as you are with excitement.
Of course, it's all very OTT, but that's been MUSE's draw card since
day one. And with a cover of Engelbert Humperdinck's classic 'Can't
Take My Eyes Off You' thrown in as a b-side, MUSE seem perfectly
happy with the situation.
