Ph.D. in political science,. Dissertation on Lenin and Leninism, Paris Sorbonne (1980). Abridged version published in 1982 as "Le léninisme. Philosophie et sociologie politique du léninisme". Second edition with additions in 1998, Paris :Presses Universitaires de France, 1998.

Currently Director of a graduate and post-graduate political science program on Russia and CIS.
