- Professors and Students start building a country cottage
near Gergovie with the assistance of Vice-chancellor Danjon and General
Delattre de Tassigny, military governor of Auvergne. Jean-Paul Cauchy
gets involved.
SECOND
PHASE : OCTOBER 1941 - RESISTANCE STARTS IN
CLERMONT FERRAND
- Jean-Paul Cauchi creates COMBAT-ETUDIANT, on a request made
by Alfred Coste-Floret, a Law teacher.
- They hand out underground newspapers and detonators.
THIRD
PHASE : NOVEMBER 1942 - THE GERMANS OCCUPY
ZONE SUD* - THE MUR "MOUVEMENTS UNIS DE RÉSISTANCE" ARE CREATED
- COMBAT, LIBERATION, FRANC-TIREUR amalgamate and form the
MUR.
- Henri Ingrand is appointed Chief of the MUR for Area 6
(Puy-de-Dôme). He confirms Jean-Paul Cauch as the Director of
Combat-Etudiant.
- Their roles : Forging identity documents, introducing young
people to the maquis* and irregular forces.
- George Mathieu becomes Cauchi's assistant
