This number of the Finnish Arts Council's
magazine is a theme issue on artist residencies as a means to foster artistic
exchange and international mobility. It provides an overview of the artist residencies
available in Finland, covering also Finnish guest studios abroad and
programmes such as the one by NIFCA, the Nordic Council of Ministers' expert
organ on contemporary art. The studies section includes interesting papers on the history of artists' journeys and their motives for travel, and on the impact of international exchange and work on the learning process of artists. |
