The dossier in this number deals with the EU Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development with regard to culture, looking both at the sixth edition which ran from 2002-2006 (FP6), and the seventh which will start in 2007 (FP7).

The various projects in which France participates are presented, covering those related to cultural heritage protection; dissemination of cultural resources; multimedia contents; new technologies applied to music education; exploitation of new digital devices; architectural and urban planning of cities; and presents also a couple of European digital heritage networks such as Minerva Plus, K-Space, Kaleidoscope and Enactive.
