This three articles in this issue
are all concerned with impact.
Cowell describes the impact of free access to government-sponsored museums in England on visitor attendance since 2001, exploring in particular how this has been measured (p.203-224). The article by Belfiore/Bennett deals with the impact of the arts on individuals, focusing on the multidimensional and subjective nature of the aesthetic experience (p.225-276). Pinnock, finally, applies the economic theory of rent-seeking to the arts for predicting and explaining personal and institutional behaviour in the not-for-profit art world (p. 277-294).
