This issue of the journal of the
Italian Association of Cultural Economics is dedicated to the performing
arts funding in Italy. Triggered by the considerable cuts to the Unified
Fund for the Performing Arts - Fondo unico per lo spettacolo - due to
the budget law in 2006, the contributions to this thematic section deal with
the future of public funding for the performing arts in Italy. Articles look
at the historic background, the various forms of state funding, expenditure
in this sector, the legal background, and decentralisation to the regional
level. To look out for in the remaining sections: a presentation of the UNESCO Convention on Cultural Diversity, and a background article on the performing arts policy of Germany. |
