Economia della cultura
1 - 2006

This issue of the journal of the Italian Association of Cultural Economics is dedicated to the performing arts funding in Italy. Triggered by the considerable cuts to the Unified Fund for the Performing Arts - Fondo unico per lo spettacolo - due to the budget law in 2006, the contributions to this thematic section deal with the future of public funding for the performing arts in Italy. Articles look at the historic background, the various forms of state funding, expenditure in this sector, the legal background, and decentralisation to the regional level.

To look out for in the remaining sections: a presentation of the UNESCO Convention on Cultural Diversity, and a background article on the performing arts policy of Germany.
