This number of the journal of the
Italian Association of Cultural Economics is dedicated to the topic of international cultural
co-operation, looking in particular at Italy's experience. The six articles of this thematic section deal with the sustainability shift in international cultural co-operation (Santagata); cultural promotion and co-operation activities of the Italian Ministry of Foreign affairs, covering multilateral and bilateral forms, as well as the scientific co-operation in the specific field of archaeology (La Francesca); the lessons learned in international cultural co-operation from the perspective of a consultancy firm (Fanciullacci); cultural policy objectives of international cultural work (Leon). Of special interest is the paper on the cultural heritage work of the World Bank (Ebbe/Taboroff); and the article about conservation of cultural heritage in conflict areas (Giantomassi). Articles in the remaining journal deal with alternative funding for the performing arts (Malaguti); controlling and entrepreneurship in arts management (Bazzanini); museum non-users (Di Mento). The documentation section includes a presentation of the Fondazione Cini; and a report on the cultural relations between Iran and the Holy See. |
