This newsletter by the
London-based "Intelligence on Culture" (ex International Art
Bureau) has already been circulated electronically in the Cultural Policy
and Action Department.
As usual, it reports on developments in the cultural
sector at EU and European level, news of the community, information on
funding possibilities, conferences, new publications, etc. Of
interest in this issue is the article on the conference "Artists on
the Move" which was organised by the Dutch Service Centre for
International Cultural Activities (SICA) in Rotterdam in October 2004 and
which resulted in several recommendations on how to improve the mobility of artists. Another
interesting article deals with a new version of the World Cultures Report
after the UNESCO abandoned this undertaking. Currently in preparation by
an independent academic consortium (including experts such as Anheier and
Isar), this report shall track the impact of globalisation on culture.
