As usual, this journal provides news
on legal developments in Europe in the fields of broadcasting and new media.
This edition includes a brief presentation of the Parliamentary Assembly
Recommendation (2005) 1706 on the treatment of terrorism in European media.
Worth attention are furthermore the two news items reporting on the European
Commission's plans to modernise the legislative framework of the media
industry, as well as its working paper on cross-border collective management
of copyright.
The supplement to this issue, Iris plus, deals with
Digital Rights Management from the consumer’s perspective; the paper
suggests that the Council of Europe is more suitable than the European
Commission to tackle consumer protection in intellectual property law. |
