As usual, this journal provides news
on legal developments in Europe in the fields of broadcasting, cinema and new media.
Of special interest is the opening article briefly presenting the
declaration adopted by Ministers of 32 European countries in Riga in June
2006 on the participation in the information society: information
technologies shall be used to counter economic, social, educational,
territorial or disability-related disadvantages.
Among the national news, it is worth noting that Slovakia is currently
laying the foundations for the preservation and restoration of the
audiovisual heritage and for its systematic access in accordance with
relevant international agreements.
