Iris - Legal Observations of the
European Audiovisual Observatory
 Plus collection 2006

This edition of the thematic supplement collection to the Iris newsletter is dedicated to legal questions revolving around audiovisual contents on different platforms. The five articles compiled in this special issue deal with the following topics:

The first one investigates a possible legal framework for technical devices which do not only help, but also influence information retrieval on the Internet; Nikoltchev examines the rules governing broadcasting of major events with regard to access to contents of public interest; Belitskaya evaluates mechanisms in Eastern Europe which shall keep questionable content out of the reach of young people; Ader discusses cultural and regional programming obligations in European broadcasting; and the final article deals with new jurisdictional regulation package (Rome II), proposed by the EU to settle international disputes of a private nature.

The single articles are available for download in PDF in English, French and German from the Observatory's website at this external link (scroll down).
