Of special interest in this number's international section is the presentation of the recent declarations and recommendations of the Committee of Ministers in the media field: a Declaration on protecting the role of the media in democracy in the context of media concentration, a Recommendation on media pluralism and diversity of media content, and a Recommendation on the remit of public service media in the information society.

Also of interest are the resolutions of the Committee of Ministers adopted in the context of the Second Monitoring Cycle of the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities, as they include comments or recommendations concerning (audiovisual) media for and with minorities.

Worth attention among the national news is the one reporting on France's setting up of a special fund, "Images of Diversity", intended to support the creation, production of dissemination of cinematographic and audiovisual works dealing with diversity and social cohesion. The Fund has an annual budget of 10 million € which will provide support for about 500 projects.
