Of special interest in this issue is
the article by Negussie who examines the approach to urban heritage
conservation in Hungary at the various levels and sectors, highlighting the
inherent conflict between conservation and urban renewal in the case of the
redevelopment of an old neighbourhood in Budapest.
The other articles examine ecomuseum practices in northern Italy; the
identity building and citizenship effects of monuments using a case from
Canada; military heritage conservation in the UK. The paper by Hausmann
shows the advantages of heritage providers for entering the market for
cultural tourism.
