Journal of Cultural Economics
vol. 28 (2), May 2004

Of special interest in this issue is the paper on museum subsidies observing the inverse relationship between the changes in the level of public funding and the level of non-grant income raised by museums in the UK.

Worth noting also is the short paper on the relationship between sponsorship and size of cultural institutions. Using the case of Germany's city states Hamburg and Berlin, the authors find that for smaller institutions income from corporate donations per visitor is larger compared to the related level of the big ones.
