Journal of Cultural Economics
vol. 29 (2), May 2005

Of special interest in this issue is the paper by Snowball who proves, using data of willingness-to-pay studies at two arts festivals in South Africa, that public funding of arts events benefits also low income groups.

Two articles deal with the price theory of works of art: Brito and Barros study the interrelationships between demand for cultural goods, income and price dynamics, whereas Locatelli and Zanola propose a model for estimating the price index of artistic works.
