Federal Cultural Foundation Magazine
3 - 2004

The German Kulturstiftung des Bundes provides in their magazine information about supported projects and contributes to ongoing debates on the role of culture. This issue focuses on the political dimension of culture.

In the introductory article on the changing relation between culture and society, Nolte describes how the antagonism between autonomy of the arts and its instrumentalisation has ceased to exist.

Also worth attention is the article by Siemons, speculating on a European cultural policy after the EU enlargement. He sees in particular the risk that culture will be used for political purposes.
