This number's theme section focuses on the German Association for Cultural Policy - Kulturpolitische Gesellschaft - which celebrates this year its 30-year anniversary, presenting the Association's development, principles and activities. Concerning its origin, it is interesting to see the influential role of the Colloquium on the Future of Cultural Development which the Council of Europe held in Arc-et-Senans on 11 April 1972.

Of special interest is an interview with the Secretary General of the German UNESCO Commission, Bernecker, on the new UNESCO Convention of Cultural Diversity. This issue includes also extracts of the Convention in German translation.
