Policultures
no. 115, mars-avril 2007

The focus section in this issue is dedicated to the achievements of the former French government under Chirac in the field of culture. The authors highlight the return of the free-market philosophy, visible in the Louvre's long-term loans  to the United Arab Emirates in exchange for payment, but also in the improved legislation for promoting arts patronage.

Also to look out for: the presentation of the new exhibition of the Musée des civilisations de l'Europe et de la Méditerranée, the museum of European and Mediterranean civilisations in Marseille.

Worth mentioning is furthermore the short article on this year's Entretiens du patrimoine which took place in Paris in March; at this occasion the French Ministry of Culture published a survey on the differing attitudes of Europeans to heritage and European identity, and also launched the label of European Heritage.
