This special issue is the first volume of the New Encyclopaedia Project
which marks the 25th anniversary of Theory, Culture, Society. Under
the title Problematizing global knowledge it presents a critical
approach to encyclopaedic knowledge under the impact of globalisation and
digitalisation. The 614 pages strong volume is a kind of encyclopaedia of
the main concepts in cultural studies, unfinished and unfinishable by nature.
