Morvan is a ancient granitic massif, worn and covered with forests in 60
%. The ground and the climate often returned the difficult life before the tourists find their
happiness there.
A long time,
Morvan was a wooden mine for cities, giving birth to the industry of the
floating. For a long time galvachers crossed the massif in all
directions, with their oxcarts to transport salt,
wine, grains or grapes. For a long time, morvandelles played the nursemaids, either by welcoming children of the
Welfare services, or by leaving to breast-feed in
Paris.
Often isolated by the snow in winter, Morvan learnt to live in autarky and to
develop an appropriate culture. |
