This issue of UNESCO's Intangible
Heritage section newsletter is entirely devoted to the inaugural session of
the Assembly of the States Parties to the Intangible Heritage Convention.
Held in Paris in June 2006, the Assembly marked the beginning of the
operational life of the Convention.
The opening article reports on the official opening, whereas the main part presents the outcomes with regard to rules of procedure, the composition and terms of the intergovernmental committee, as well as financing. Furthermore, a new website has been set up, and a specialised documentation centre will open in autumn 2006. The newsletter is available in PDF from the UNESCO website at this external link. |
