This issue features some of the papers
presented at the symposium on "The New Wave: entrepreneurship and the
Arts" in Melbourne in 2002. Entrepreneurship is a relatively new field of inquiry for
the arts and culture and this issue presents cultural entrepreneurship as a
serious research topic.
The six articles explore entrepreneurship in relation to cultural
policy, cultural leadership, cultural value, non-profit development at
regional level, leisure opportunities and networking theory. Their guiding
principle is that creativity and innovation are the driving forces behind
the sustainability of arts organisations.
